Dimension3 2.1 is known as a real-time and fast-paced action game without content. This engine is aimed directly at mod makers and anybody interesting in creating their own 3D game. These people have done wonderful things with other engines, but they are extending an engine that was basically designed for a single game. Dim3 is the opposite an engine designed for all games.

Worms 3D expands the strategic options in previous Worms games in some fascinating new directions. Think caves, cliffs, tunnelling, roping, multiple random levels and realistic landscape deformation.

As Team 17 explain it, the problem with moving the game into three dimensions was one of the technology allowing them to do a good job of randomly generating and destroying landscape. It was not until they were confident that the technology they had developed allowed for both true-3D landscape deformation as well as the faithful translation of the established Worms visual style, that they were prepared to do the 3D thing.
