UnicodeChecker 1.12.1
UnicodeChecker - displays information for every code point from the Unicode Standard 5 more>>
UnicodeChecker is a ver useful tool for Mac OS X that displays information for every code point from the Unicode Standard 5.
For a given number, UnicodeChecker will display that character along with its UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-32 encodings, XHTML entity, Unicode Name, mapping information and much more.
If the file Unihan.txt from unicode.org is installed UnicodeChecker will also show Unihan Information for any codepoint. (See UnicodeChecker Help for instructions on installing the Unihan file.)
UnicodeChecker features string utilities for converting strings to the four Unicode Normalization Forms or converting from or to Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) as specified in RFC 3490 Internationalizing Domain Names in Applications (IDNA).
There are also several text conversion functions available to all applications from the Services menu or via AppleScript.
So you can convert text to and from XHTML/HTML character entities or have UnicodeChecker escape Unicode characters for use in CSS or Java.
This can come in handy for HTML authors or for preprocessing text for generating HTML pages.
Apart from their numerical value, you can find characters by their Unicode name or by selecting one of the Unicode Character Blocks from the menu. Furthermore, you can create an index for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) so characters can be searched by Unicode Name via Spotlight search.
