Math Commander 1.0 is a rather useful program that creates an immersive environment where your child can work on their math skills without interruption. It engages your child using visual and auditory feedback, and lets them concentrate math itself, instead of the busy work often associated with math.

How it works:

• Gather a collection of pictures your son or daughter is interested in. Characters in favorite movies or TV shows, dinosaurs, animals, toys, and cars make excellent collections.
• Follow the instructions included in the Read Me to create a custom Math Commander application. Choose from a variety of math topics and audio voices to accompany the images.
  
• Save a copy of the application. Create as many copies as you like, and each one will use with its own images and settings. Math Commander apps can run from a CD, Flash Drive, iPod, Applications folder, or network volume -- anywhere at all. Just make sure they're easy to get to.
  
• Show your child how to start it. They'll take it from there. Math will become surprisingly popular.

Notebook Math Two 3.0.6 is a simple and salutary program which stores student progress info for multiple classrooms, and allows password-protected access to summary progress reports. Multiplication and division problems are presented in a series of increasingly more difficult levels. Each level has a hidden picture that must be revealed by solving nine worksheets quickly and accurately.

MacEmatics Light 1.01 is considered to be a creative and simple-to-use math program that takes arithmetic tests to a new level. The program has a number of features found in the more powerful MacEmatics program such as boundaries, sound, and test results. Using a simple interface any child can work with, the program helps children build math skills.

Children build math skills through repetition of concepts they learn in the classroom or in the home. Any parent or teacher can set up test conditions for the pupil to reinforce the lessons the child learns. The child quickly learns how to set up their own tests, too.

The Light version of MacEmatics only supports addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers. The full version of MacEmatics has many more tests and can even save preferences and custom boundaries.
