You can also manually set the desktop from the main application. This feature is disabled by default, you can enable it and choose settings from the Preferences window.
Several buttons now appear below image views. These have various functions, such as opening the home page of the service from which the image is downloaded, viewing the image in Preview, or setting the desktop to the image. Not all of these options are available for each image.
Weather Desk is a freeware application which displays weather conditions, forecasts, and related information on your desktop and in your menu bar. You can also view radar images (US only for now), images of the Earth or moon, automatically set your desktop to an updated image of the Earth centered above a station, and view the Astronomy Picture of the Day
