Select from the most common types of backups, or drag-and-drop any set of files and folders that you want preserved. Tell Synk where to send it all, and that's it—Synk will take care of all of the details of how to get it done.
2. ...When you want: Synk Backup scheduling A backup is only as good as it is up to date, so it's important that it be run regularly and consistently. Fortunately, Synk Backup integrates scheduling directly into the application, so you never have to worry about remembering to run your backup, even if you're logged out or the computer is asleep.

   • Synk Backup archiving Let's face it. The greatest risk to your data is probably not the nefarious hard drive crash, lightning strike, or random corruption—it's you.    • When you use Synk's archiving feature, whenever a file would be replaced or deleted from the backup copy, it is tucked away for safekeeping in an archive rather than being eternally lost. • Now compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard.” Maintaining compatibility of this complicated tool across the increasingly wide technological gulf in operating systems has had the following consequences:
• • Receiving Growl notifications now depends upon the growlnotify tool being installed. It may be found in the standard Growl distribution download.
• “Autorun on mount” is now supported on a wider variety of volumes, including locally attached FAT drives and many network mounts. The level of support may vary based on your version of Mac OS X. You will need to redefine the locations using those volumes in Synk's interface to take advantage of this new support.
• Replacement of a file with a package, or vice versa, is now supported.
• Synk now detects and flags an error if a volume UUID isn't actually unique, instead of just picking one basically at random. The help files now describe how to remedy the situation.
• Fixed the nefarious “parentScript is a required value” error message.
• Fixed an issue where correctly completed runs could briefly be reported as having crashed.
• Fixed a couple of issues in the blessing of bootable backups.
• Fixed an issue that could prevent scheduled runs from running until the application had been launched twice.
• Fixed an issue resulting in incorrect “last run” status info being displayed.
• Minor performance improvements during file copies.
