simple irc is an IRC client for Mac OS X written from scratch with REALbasic 5.2.4.
No testing has been done on Mac OS X prior to 10.4.2.
Main features:
- Themes for changing the appearance (theme tutorial)
- Custom away, part, and quit messages
- Favorite server menu
- Multiple channel support
- Autoconnect to a server on start-up
- Auto-identify on connection
- Built-in iTunes currently-playing feature.
Enhancements:
- [CHG] Quotes are not used in the themes anymore. This means you can use double quotes for nickname delimiters. This version will automatically convert themes for beta 3 to beta 4 when they are opened but it will not alter the file.
- [NEW] For first time users, default preferences are set when you choose your nickname.
- [CHG] Improved parser, eliminates some bugs.
- [FIX] When receiving a CTCP ACTION it displays properly.
- [FIX] JOIN, PART and QUIT messages display properly.
- [NEW] Set part, quit, and away messages in the preferences.
- [NEW] /clear command to clear the screen.
- [CHG] No longer shows PING PONG when the server pings the client.
