Wherever you go, there you are. But your data is stuck on a computer somewhere else. Now you can get to your information anywhere there is an internet connection. With Share, accessing your data is as easy as using a web browser.
Share is a simple web server that makes your information available wherever you can connect to the internet. Sharing files is simple and easy. You can make and edit notes. You may also listen to the music in your iTunes library and view the photos stored in iPhoto.
Main features:
Listen to your music
- Listen to your iTunes playlists from any computer. Share provides access to all of your playlists and music. Share provides all of the functionality that youd expect. It has an integrated player that lets you listen non-stop to your playlists. It has sorting and shuffling features. You can even watch movies and TV shows.
Share files, easily
- Mac OS X comes with a built-in feature for sharing the "Shared" folder in your home folder. This, however, requires setup and administration and is limited to that one folder. Share lets you share files and folders from any point on your file system. You can even share items stored on an external hard drive. If the Finder can see it, you can share it. Best yet, setting up is as easy as dragging the file or folder onto the Share files pane of the main window.
View your photos online
- iPhoto is a great repository for your digital photos. Its just a shame that its so difficult to share those photos with other people. With Share, you can view your iPhoto albums from any computer connected to the internet. Share even provides a slideshow feature.
Access your Address Book
- You may have a bunch of contacts listed in your Address Book but they dont do you any good if you cant get to them when you need. Share reads your Address Book and streams it to you wherever you are. Your address book is just as searchable and you still have access to all of your groups.
Jot down notes
- Share comes with its own kind of wiki that lets you and others connected to your share create, write, and collaborate on text files. With it, you can take quick lists of todos and groceries that you can retrieve from work, store information that youd like to return to later, or let friends make notes and share ideas.
Take a screenshot
- Sometimes, you are just curious whats happening on your computer while youre away. Share will give you a screenshot of Desktop activity any time that you want.
Configure it to suit your needs
- Share provides a lot of functionality but it also makes it exceptionally easy to use. All of the heavy lifting is done behind the scenes. All you have to do is tell Share what to do and how to do it. If youd like to share certain files, limit access to certain features, or just stream specific playlists, Share lets you do it. Youre in complete control with Share.
Applescriptable
- Share provides access to to the server and lots of configurable options via applescript. This is perfect for automating when and how you want to use Share.
Version restrictions:
- Until registered, Share will only serve files for 3 hours per launch.
