LengthControl 2.0

LengthControl is a simple and powerful utility for those who still have to limit their file/folder names to 31 characters on OS X.

Many users still have to do this because of various reasons: clients still using OS 9, servers that cant accept long names, collecting jobs from Quark 6 (which truncates image names) etc.

LengthControl allows you to quickly locate and shorten the long names in three easy steps:
• drag-and-drop the files and folders you want to check onto the LengthControl icon in the Finder or Dock,
• edit long names (the red numbers will indicate the number of characters you need to remove),
• click Change Names to automatically rename in the Finder all items whose names were edited.
