LDapper X 2.0.3 description

LDapper is a simple LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) client for finding email addresses. You can look up people by name, department, or another arbitary attribute.
Once you have a list of people, you can copy/paste or drag addresses into a new email message. Depending on your email client, you may be able to automagically add them to a new message by selecting the "Mail To:" command in the LDAP menu or by clicking the email button. Try it and see if it works.
It works with MacOS Xs built in Mail client and Microsoft Entourage. You can export addresses directly into the MacOS X Address Book or files that can be imported into other applications. You can also browse a directory in a hierarchical fashion.
Enhancements:
Bug Fixes:
- If "Clear List" option was not set, searches would fail with a "selector not recognized" error in the console, but because the status sheet is attached to the window you could never close the window.
- Although LDapper would select the first item in a list after performing a search, you still had to click the list to copy, mailto, etc.
- Info text field of browser window was editable.
- Cancelling the Options sheet didnt actually cancel.
- Default file name when exporting was "foo".
Changes/Additions:
- Copying an entry in a browse window (from the list, not selected text) will copy the entrys DN. This can be used as a search base to find anything "below" it in the LDAP tree.
- Option added to show "friendly attributes" in the info field. The default is off.
- Can no longer select "n/a" item in browser windows list.
- Can now specify the format of copied addresses, i.e., "name " or "address (name)".
- Added a tooltip to the search attribute popups that displays the "other" attribute when "Other" is selected. (The popup no longer displays the attribute.)
- Added the ability to export addresses directly to the Address Book. This requires MacOS X 10.2 or later.
- As always, some minor cosmetic tweaks.
