JumpBox for OTRS 1.1.8 description
JumpBox for OTRS 1.1.8 offers users a full-featured appliance that deploys locally, or hosted to major virtualization, and cloud computing platforms.
A JumpBox bundles the operating system with the application and all its dependencies into a single ready to run bundle. This allows you to focus on working with the application while not having to worry about getting it installed. It also means that the application can be deployed on any x86 platform regardless of what platform the application is written for. All that is required is the JumpBox, some virtualization software like VMware, a network that assigns dynamic IP addresses (most do), and a computer with enough RAM and disk space.
OTRS is an Open Source Ticket Request System (also well known as trouble ticket system) with many features to manage customer telephone calls and e-mails. The system is built to allow your support, sales, pre-sales, billing, internal IT, helpdesk, etc. department to react quickly to inbound inquiries. OTRS is well known for being painful to install, but you’ll never know it when you use a JumpBox. It’s one click and about 2 minutes to having a full installation of OTRS ready and waiting to serve your customers.
This JumpBox is based on the 1.1 JumpBox Platform and includes a backup system that supports archiving the state of the JumpBox to NFS, Windows File Shares and Amazon S3.

Enhancements:
- The OTRS application has been upgraded to OTRS 2.4.2. This JumpBox should be able to restore from 1.1.1 and newer JumpBoxes. Users with backups from
- JumpBoxes before 1.1.1 must restore to 1.1.7, then backup and restore again from 1.1.7 to 1.1.9.
- This is a minor improvement and bugfix release.
