1. iSync plugins are extremely easy to use, as you see the list of your already configured phones on the Mac and just need one click to activate them for the use with iSync.
2. You can even use the iSync plugins if you are not working with Address Book or iCal. As long as your personal information management program is talking to the systems' database, like e.g. Entourage, you are fine to sync.
3. iSync plugins do not work with older versions of Mac OS X systems. Use the Software Update feature in the Apple Menu to update to the latest Mac OS X version. Some cell phones will need Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher to operate with iSync.
4. iSync plugins will update the list of supported cell phones automatically every time you use the iSync plugins in the system preferences. So there is no need to download and install any new version. 
5. If the application itself is updated, you will be prompted to allow the download and installation of the new program version.
