iKey lets you create shortcuts which can run an action based on:

• a keyboard equivalent or click from any usb mouse, trackball, gamepad and keyboard (mighty mouse, xkeys, contour mouse, shuttle pro, usb devices from kensington, microsoft, logitech, etc.)
• and/or an item of a menu
• and/or a programmed time/date.
• iKey is for power users thru beginners.

Major Features:

1. Automation
   • iKey is an automation utility, a program that creates shortcuts to accomplish repetitive tasks. In essence, an iKey shortcut is a little program in its own right, but you don't need to know the first thing about programming to create an iKey shortcut.
   • A shortcut is made up of 3 parts:Commands, Contexts and Launchers
2. Applications and Documents
   • Use iKey to tell your computer to launch, switch, show, quit and relaunch software applications, or to open specific documents even in other applications than their creator application.
     
   • Includes access to recent applications and the currently running applications. iKey is even able to control the actual windows & menus of running applications.
3. Keyboard, Mouse, Menu, & Palette
   • iKey can simulate both keydown events and mouse events, meaning iKey can control the computer as if someone were physically using the keyboard and the mouse. The keyboard commands also include the ability to type the date, type the contents of the clipboard or even the contents of a file.
4. Clipboard, Window, System, & UNIX
   • Copying, Pasting and adding to the clipboard is all possible with iKey. iKey can open the System Preferences and switch to any one of the preference panes. iKey can tell the computer when to sleep, restart or shutdown.
     
   • Using the power of Mac OS X, iKey can even execute UNIX commands
5. Internet, Script, & Sound
   • iKey is also able to Open Web Addresses, Create new e-mails, Pause, Display folder hierarchy and show files within the Finder, play Sounds, and execute Applescripts or itself be run by Applescripts.
6. Comatible USB Hardware
   • iKey Works With All The USB Hardware such as Apple, Macally, i Key keyboards, i Media Key, i Opti Net, Belkin, Swann Opti Glo, etc..

Enhancements:

• Cleaned up code base and removed unused/old code.
• Updated Sparkle to use https for appcast and downloads.
• Hanged missing devices (USB Devices, etc) message to add a "Don't show again" option.
• Note: Hold option key down on startup of iKey Engine to re-enable showing missing devices
• added quiting editor when quiting iKey Engine
• Fix: for IU layout problems in AppleScript - select file system - sleep; preferences-open preferences, clipboards - restore clipboard, from file; url selection.
• System - Start/Stop classic should not be appear intel Mac's. Disabled adding Classic start/stop on intel Mac since classic is not supported on intel mac's.
