Back-In-Time 1.4.2

Back-In-Time 1.4.2 is a brand new software created to make easy to recover data backed up by Time Machine. Back-In-Time can recover a single file or folder, as well as an entire disk. Back-In-Time can recreate a bootable disk as it was at a given date.

Back-In-Time offers what is impossible with Time Machine: open multiple browsers, copy with a simple drag and drop, easily know how many versions of a given document are available, discover when an item was deleted, access the data saved in an old Time Machine disk (for example after having changed the Time Machine disk to a bigger one), recover data that were backed up on another Mac, etc.
Major Features:

1. Open Multiple Browsers: Back-In-Time can open multiple browsers to display multiple Time Machine disks, folders and backup dates to compare and retrieve data easily. Copy, Recovery and Preview features are directly available. Back-In-Time can also access the data remained on a former Time Machine disk.
2. Drag and Drop to recover or open files: To restore a file or folder, simply drag it to the original location at any other place on your Mac.
   • To preview a file, press the Space bar.
   • To view or open a file, drag it onto the application of your choice (the file cannot be modified when located on the Time Machine disk).

3. Access Time Machine Data located in any disk or Mac: From the same interface, easily access any file or folder on your Time Machine disks: your Time Machine disk, the Time Machine disks used by other Macs, and data from Time Capsule.
4. Easily find the multiple versions and deleted items:
   • Back-In-Time displays the number of versions available for each document, and when they were saved. You can preview and open them directly, and also have a graphical comparison of their contents.
   • Deleted items are displayed and you can copy, preview, and open them.

Enhancements:

• Add a dialog when mounting the Time Machine volume using an alias.
• Fixed a problem that could freeze Back-In-Time when mounting the Time Machine volume using an alias.
