A Cooks Books is recipe management software designed to make storing, editing, and finding recipes a snap.
The program features an elegant interface that makes adding recipes, editing existing recipes, and scaling recipes by amount or by serving simple and intuitive.
Other features include, importing MasterCooks and other recipes, recipe printing, weekly planning, shopping list generation, and a reference section.
Main features:
- Manage your recipes with the most powerful recipe manager and nutritional reference tool available for Macintosh and OS X.
- A Cooks Books simplifies entering recipes by allowing you to import them from multiple sources. If you have hundreds (or thousands?) of recipes in programs like MasterCook, MealMaster, Cookn, MacGourmet, or Connoisuer, simply export them from your old program and import them into A Cooks Books. You can also import recipes from text or even manually enter them.
- Scale recipes up or down by amount or by servings.
- Locate recipes using a powerful Find feature that can search on multiple criteria, such as Ingredient, Region/Category, Course, Cooking Method, Author, and Publication.
- Track the nutritional value of your meals. A Cooks Boks will calculate the nutrition of each recipe.
- Plan meals for any period of time from one day to 4 weeks with A Cooks Books ground breaking planner.
- Create shopping lists from the planner. Better yet, create a Pantry and have A Cooks Books check it for items that are on hand when it creates the shopping list. Then save the shopping list to an iPod.
- Use powerful tools to edit multiple recipes at one time.
Version restrictions:
- Fully functional demo for up to 10 recipes.
- Registration screen at startup.
Enhancements:
- Modified how Illustrations are saved.
- Added import support for a new MealMaster format.
- The demo now has menu items for purchasing and registering A Cooks Books. The menus are removed when the program is registered.
- Added support for importing Connoisseur recipes.
- When new cookbooks are opened during a session, the cookbook title now updates correctly in the program title bar.
- Added recipe meta-data items for recipe Yield, and Equipment.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a crash during ingredient drag and drop.
- Added support for unit of measure abbreviations: tsp. and tbsp. (note the periods).
