Editra is a text editor with many features that you often find in an IDE, such as Syntax Highlighting, bracket matching, and code input helpers. The design focuses on creating a simple, attractive, easy to use interface.
Editra is a multi-platform text editor with an implementation that focuses on creating an easy to use interface and features that aid in code development.
Currently it supports syntax highlighting and variety of other useful features for over 60 programming languages.
Editra is tested and verified to work on the following systems: Mac OS X (PowerPC and Intel), Windows XP, Gentoo Linux. However Editra should run on any system that supports Python 2.4+ and wxPython 2.8.
Currently the project is in the alpha development phase but test builds of "stable" points are available for download and trial as Windows and Mac OSX(Universal) binaries, currently other Unix and Linux based systems will have to install from source using the included setup script.
NOTE: Editra is released and distributed under the terms of the wxWindows License.
