SpaceTime Screensaver for Mac OS X is an emmersive, fully 3D screensaver featuring:
• animated Warp Field effect viewable in all three dimensions
• blended lighting for additional visual impact
• customizable settings for warp speed, star density, selecting 3DS meshes, etc.
Several 3D Studio MAX (.3ds) meshes are included and selectable via the OS X System Preferences tool.
Free source code provided as of November 11, 2003, updated for Xcode 2.4.
Utilizes my Mesh3DS Framework to enable loading basic 3D Studio MAX (.3ds) meshes easily.
Free (as in beer & speech) Cocoa source code and project files provided for SpaceTime Screen Saver, Mesh3DS Framework and a sample program called Display3DS. No warrantees or restrictions apply to this code; use it as you like to learn Cocoa and/or OpenGL programming on OS X.
Enhancements:
- Now provided as a Universal Binary for both Intel and PowerPC based Macs.
