NetNewsWire for Mac OS X 3.0

This RSS (Really Simple Syndication) reader can fetch and display news from thousands of different Web sites and Web logs. NetNewsWire includes a Weblog editor that allows you to post to blogging sites such as Movable Type, Radio UserLand, and Blogger, and a scrapbook that stores news headlines, URLs, subscriptions, and draft text. The Find command allows you to search through current news. NetNewsWire is scriptable via AppleScript and other OSA languages and includes a Scripts menu where you can add your own scripts.

Like any Web news reader, NetNewsWire hardly qualifies as sexy software. But its hard not to fall for an app that saves you this much time getting your daily news fix. Using a familiar three-pane interface (think Mail or Outlook), NetNewsWire lets you quickly fetch and digest news from thousands of RSS feeds. And if you manage your own blog, NNWs Weblog editor makes grabbing and posting news a cinch. The full version also includes a handy notepad and scripting capabilities. (Our only complaint is how easy NetNewsWire makes it to overload: now were tracking four times as many feeds.) If youve never tried a newsreader, this one saves you time as you get all of the news.
