LinkUp is used to show the link status of the main Ethernet interface (en0) or remote server connection by pinging IP address or host name.
Enhancements:
- user can specify number of ping retries (1 to 10)
- logging feature (one-line syslog entry when the status changes), thanks to David G. Perkins.
