ICQ 3.4.23

ICQ 3.4.23 is an effective program designed to help you seek out friends and colleagues on the Internet.

Major Features:

1. One of the internet's first instant messengers, that has evolved into a personal communications center: ICQ allows you to exchange files, chat, send SMS to many cellular networks around the world, send and check email, keep records of your messages, exchange web addresses and more.
2. Highly configurable with many useful little features.
3. ICQ now allows you to enter and view text messages with the native system text control (MLTE). You can activate this feature if you are running Mac OS X 10.2 or higher, by checking the 'Use OS X Text Editor' option in the messages panel of the preferences window.
   
4. If you are using a personal firewall (such as the one provided in Mac OS X), you may define a range of allowed ports, on which MacICQ can receive peer to peer connections. In the MacICQ application, define the same port range in the Connection panel of the Security and Network window.
   
5. If you are behind a firewall that does not allow direct connection to your computer, you may still be able to receive files from other ICQ users.
   
6. The ICQ Contact List can now displays nicknames in multiple languages and character sets.
   

Requirements:

• Mac OS X and MacOS 9.x using CarbonLib 1.3 or higher.
• The recommended system versions are Mac OS 9.1 or higher, or Mac OS X 10.1 or higher.
