BetterSearch 1.9 won't make you disappointed because it enhances Google (all international flavours, too), MSN Search, Yahoo Search, A9, Answers.com (web results), AllTheWeb, Dogpile.com, del.icio.us and Simpy.com bookmarks by adding previews (thumbnails) and Amazon product images and info (type, price, rating for US/DE/UK/CA/FR products), a quick preview feature as well as "Open in New Window", "Site Info" and "Wayback Machine" links to the search results.
Major Features:
- You can clearly see the thumbnails and the extra icons
- A Yahoo results page after a click on the Quick Preview icon. You can take a look at the result without leaving the search engine page. With another click on the Quick Preview icon, the preview frame will disappear.
- The options dialog was fully revamped, giving you the ability to toggle support for a particular site.
- You can specify where the thumbnails should be taken from. Also,the ability to specify an upper limit to the number of inserted thumbnails. if you're paranoid overcautious, you will like the anonymization feature.
- You can also enable/disable the single features of BetterSearch.
Enhancements:
- ADD: Localization. Initial set: English, Italian, German, French, Catalan, Spanish.
- ADD: Dogpile.com support.
- CHG: Better Amazon ASIN recognition, so more reliable Amazon product detail display.
- CHG: Major code cleanups.
- CHG: Better, cleaner thumbnail placement. The dreaded "results jumping due to thumbnail placing", umm, feature is gone, too.
- CHG: Due to localization issues, the "Archive" link is not an icon anymore, but a styled text link.
- BUG: AllTheWeb support was broken, fixed.
- BUG: Processing was sometimes triggered on non-search pages @ Yahoo!, Google, MSN and AllTheWeb. Fixed.
