OnTheAir Video 2.4.6 is created as a very useful and convenient broadcast quality video playback application which can be used for automated playout thanks to its optional scheduler or it can serve as a clip store for live news operations. OnTheAir Video  is an easy-to-use and intuitive video playback application. It runs on any MacPro or PowerMac G5 computer equipped with MacOS 10.4 or later.

OnTheAir Video can be used for automated playout using its own scheduler or it can serve as a clip store for live news operations, local broadcast or live shows. Schedules can be created weeks in advance.

Thanks to its powerful and reliable playback engine, OnTheAir Video supports within the same playlist many video formats such as Apple ProRes, MPEG-4, MPEG IMX, DVCam, DV, DVCProHD, DVCPro, DVCPro 50, DV50, Photo JPEG, M-JPEG etc... OnTheAir Video can support full HD resolution playback using Apple ProRes, DVCProHD or uncompressed video clips. All codecs can be mixed but the frame size must be identical.

That's why have 2 versions of OnTheAir Video 2.3: one to use with HD 1440 such as DVCPRO HD, and another one to use with HD 1920 such as Apple ProRes or uncompressed HD. Soon, you'll be able to mix not only codecs, but also different frame size (SD, HD1440, HD1920...) in a playlist. Downscaling and upscaling will be automatic.

OnTheAir Video is an open solution. It does not require any proprietary hardware as it uses the Balckmagic Decklink or AJA video cards. Its playlists are XML based meaning that they can be created by an external automation application. OnTheAir Video also supports GPI, and external Actions via AppelScript.

No need to be a computer specialist to run your own TV station! Simply create a few playlists using video files exported from Final Cut Pro (or any editing software) and you'll be broadcasting in minutes!

The overlay module allows the use of your graphics, for your station identification (that can be different for each clip). OnTheAir Video CG is a more complex Character Generator.
