iSpeak It 3.5

iSpeak It 3.5 is created to be a file-to-audio converter which is responsible for serving as a perfect companion to the iPod or iPhone. iSpeak It loads Word, PDF, Pages 2, RTF, AppleWorks, text and HTML documents.

It downloads Wikipedia articles, weather forecasts, driving directions, and arbitrary web pages as well as RSS feeds. iSpeak It then uses the Mac's text-to-speech engine and iTunes to convert the text into an MP3/AAC track.

Major Features:

1. Load and edit any document. iSpeak It provides built-in support for PDF, Word, Pages, AppleWorks, RTF, HTML or text.
2. Download any web page or RSS/Atom feed. iSpeak It remembers previous feed downloads to ensure you only get entries you haven't heard yet.
3. Download any Wikipedia article.
4. Save documents as an AIFF file.
5. Transfer a document to iTunes and convert it to an MP3, AAC, etc track in your library (MP3 versus AAC conversion is based on your import preference settings in iTunes; AAC conversion requires iTunes 4.0 or later).
6. Split long documents into multiple tracks, just like audiobooks.
7. Make documents bookmarkable so they remember where you left off, just like audiobooks.
8. Document text appears as lyrics on your iPod/iPhone so you can read along as you listen.
9. Automatically transfer a document to iTunes after it has been loaded. The document text is put into the track lyrics so you can read along as you listen.
10. Automatically load web pages and/or weather on launch.
11. Complete control over the song name, artist, album and genre settings.
12. A Services menu item for loading selected text from any application.
13. Download weather forecasts and driving directions.
14. Define and apply replacement rules to correct for Apple's text-to-speech weaknesses.
15. Test the speech of any portion of a document to make sure it sounds correct (and subsequently define and test replacement rules for problem phrases).
16. Converts a document to speech according to your Speech Preferences (as set via the System Preferences).
17. Uses the file name, URL or download topic as the default song name to use within iTunes.
18. Create and edit text documents.

Enhancements:

• Adds support for Wikipedia downloading.
• When automatically transferring to iTunes you can now choose to automatically close the window after the transfer completes.
