Xastir 1.9.5 Dev / 1.9.4 Ranking & Summary
Xastir 1.9.5 Dev / 1.9.4 description
Xastir is program for receiving and plotting APRS position packets. Development is a collaborative effort of programmers and amateur radio enthusiasts from around the world.
Xastir supports many map formats and is highly customizable. Check out the "Screen Shots" link to see just a few of the ways that Xastir can be used.
Xastir runs on Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, Lindows, with many more possible.
Xastir supports 125 map formats, AX.25 networking (Soundmodem/Baycom/SCC!) several types of TNCs and weather stations, Festival speech synthesizer, and seven languages!
On Unix-like operating systems, you can run your weather station or global positioning system (GPS) on a separate computer as well, which is good for those hams who are already short on serial ports.
System requirements:
-
Enhancements
- config/language-Dutch.sys, config/language-English.sys,
- config/language-French.sys, config/language-German.sys,
- config/language-Italian.sys, config/language-Portuguese.sys,
- config/language-Spanish.sys, src/database.h, src/wx.c: Add
- support for the Davis 6540 "Weatherlink for APRS" with "Streaming
- Data Logger". This attachment to the Davis Vantage Pro causes
- the device to stream APRS posits (sans fromcall, tocall, and
- path) to the serial port instead of requiring polling. With such
- a device, Meteo and the associated glue program (db2APRS or
- whatever its called) are unnecessary, so long as this patch is
- in place.
- Also update language files as needed.
