QUAD-Plot 1.14

QUAD-Plot is a plotting application for professional and technical people such as researchers, teachers and students. Conventional plotting packages are expensive, slow and can be frustrating to use in a real-time environment. QUAD-Plot is designed to make it quick and easy to view data and produce high quality printed graphs.
Main features:
Memory and Speed
- faster than most other packages at importing data, drawing and updating plots
- ~30,000 points can be plotted with the default memory allocation of 768k
Plotting
- two plot types are currently available - line/point plots or histograms
- choose columns to be plotted/histogramed on x and y menus. "Go!" (or cmd-G) produces the plot
- ranges automatically adjust to include new data (if "Default Ranges" chosen)
- vary the number of bins and bin-range of your histograms
- add error bars in either x or y - several sources are possible
Files
- imports ANY tabular ascii file, from Mac, PC or Unix workstation
- comments can be included in the files if they are preceded by the % character
- save plots in QUAD-Plots own format or export as a high resolution PICT
- individual datasets can be exported as text files
Editing
- select a dataset by clicking near it.
- cut or copy a dataset from a window. Paste it into another like text in a word processor
- copy plots to the clipboard at screen resolution
Axes
- intelligent defaults for axes ranges - but these are easily changed
- tick marks are placed at sensible intervals by default
- justify x and y axes to maintain equal world coordinate interval per inch
- display or hide coordinate axes from the menu
Labels
- sensible default strings which are easily changed
- change font, style, size and color easily
- automatically scale labels with the size of the plot window for easy viewing of many plots on a screen
Symbols and Lines
- many symbols and line styles to choose from
- size, color and type of symbol are easily changed
- thickness, color and style of line are easily changed
- sub-pixel thicknesses can be chosen for output to high resolution printers
Printing
- print the front most window with cmd-P
- or, choose "View Page..." to position plots on a view of the page
- position and size plots as you like on this view of the page
- automatically grid plots for speed and ease of production
- display inch/cm guidelines to help position and size the plots.
Version restrictions:
- Registration screen at startup.
Enhancements:
- General improvements to the stability of the code.
- Fixed a crash situation on Export Plot as Pict.
