Vienna 2.3.2.2303 offers you a freeware that provides features comparable to commercial newsreaders, but both it and the source code are freely available for download. This software is the open source RSS/Atom newsreader for the Mac OS X operating system.

1. Simple, uncluttered UI
   • Vienna's user interface is intentionally kept sparse so as to present you with only the controls you absolutely need. All other functionality is moved to the menus
2. Support for RSS and Atom feeds
   • Vienna supports both RSS 2.0 and Atom feeds. It automatically takes care of deciphering and presenting the articles in a consistent format regardless of the original feed format
3. Built-in Browser
   • Vienna provides a built-in web browser based on the Safari web engine. Clicking an external link in an article provides the option to open it in Vienna for convenience
4. Global Search
   • Quickly and easily search for a word or phrase across all downloaded articles and group the results together into their own folder for easy reading
5. Smart Folders
   • Create folders whose contents are dynamically determined by criteria that you specify. When you view the folder, Vienna automatically displays all articles meeting that criteria
6. Integrated Enclosures
   • For news articles that contains files, Vienna automatically recognises them and offers to launch them. Play your music enclosures in iTunes
7. Folder groups
   • Organise your subscriptions into groups and you can even create groups within groups
8. Import and Export
   • Import your subscriptions from Bloglines or any other RSS reader that exports in OPML format. Similarly export your subscriptions to an OPML format file for importing elsewhere
9. Scheduled Refresh
   • Refresh your subscriptions automatically every 30 minutes or every 1, 2 or 6 hours
10. Flagged Articles
    • Flag articles of interest and view them together via the Marked Articles smart folder
11. Reading Panes
    • Choose your reading pane layout. Put it below the articles or to the right, whichever orientation works best for you
12. Styles
    • Change your style in which articles are presented from any of the built-in custom styles. Or create your own styles with a bit of knowledge of HTML and CSS.
13. Article Filtering
    • Filter the displayed articles by all articles, unread articles, articles retrieved today or only those articles retrieved since the last refresh. A popup menu on the article list header makes it easy to switch between all four filter modes
14. Blogging Integration
    • Quickly blog the selected article. Vienna automatically recognises the most common blogging software and launches the software with the details of the selected article pre-filled
15. New Get Info Window
    • The new Get Info command on the File menu brings up a Info window that provides one stop display of a feed's link, description, count of articles and options for editing the authentication info for protected feeds
